Science - Light and Sound
Learning Goal: We are learning about the characteristics of light and sound so that we can use technological problem-solving skills to design, build and test a device that makes use of the properties of light or sound.
Success Criteria:
*I can discuss properties of light and sound
*I can name natural and artificial light sources
*I can identify devices that make use of the properties of light and sound and create my own
Light & Sound Brochure
LEARNING GOAL: We are learning about light and sound pollution so that we can create a brochure to inform others on ways to reduce light and sound pollution. SUCCESS CRITERIA:
· I have created a brochure that grabs the audience’s attention
· I have tried to inform others
· I included the necessary information (title, headings, illustrations, different font sizes and colour)
· I used a variety of bold colours in my brochure (coloured pencils only)
· I included words to give information about light and sound pollution
· Include pictures to give information about light and sound pollution
· I coloured my pictures neatly
· My words are easily read
· My brochure makes sense
· My illustrations and words fill up the panels (Not too much empty space)
· I checked my spelling, punctuation, and capitals
· My poster is directed for a specific audience (i.e. Jean Vanier students)

Examples of Light Pollution - street lights, billboards, stadium lights
